2017 Channel Nine Telethon Launches
This week, Channel Nine Queensland were proud to launch the fourth annual Channel Nine Telethon in support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation with the aim of raising an incredible $11 million to help sick kids and their families.
Together, we’ve raised over $34 million over the past three years, which showed extraordinary care for sick kids. And we are excited to build on that support even more in 2017, to reach our goal of $11 million and make an even bigger difference to the lives of children throughout our state.
To kick off fundraising, the Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, Hon Cameron Dick announced the Queensland Government’s $1 million support on behalf of all Queenslanders.
Children’s Hospital Foundation CEO Rosie Simpson said the support and generosity of the community will help save lives.
“Your donations will fund life-saving medical research, new medical equipment, and provide entertainment and support services for children and their families.
“Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a huge difference,” she said.
By making a donation, Queenslanders will help the Children’s Hospital Foundation support, care and entertain our sickest kids and their families while they’re in hospital and they can be part of something big – funding world-class research to find better treatments and ultimately cures for our most devastating childhood diseases.
We would also like to thank our presenting partners – the Queensland Government, Woolworths, BOQ, Golden Casket, The Coffee Club, The Courier Mail and The Sunday Mail, Triple M and Sunsuper – and their staff and customers for their wonderful support.
The Channel Nine Telethon will occur on Saturday 18 November. If you are interested in donating to help sick kids smile and laugh, get better and go home sooner, call 1800 909 900, or donate online now.
