The Children’s Hospital Foundation works wonders for sick kids by funding life-saving medical research, investing in vital new equipment, and providing some amazing entertainment, family support and care programs for sick kids. Our incredible volunteers are there to support little patients while they are in hospital, helping them to laugh and smile, get better and go home with their families.
Everything we do is made possible by the generosity of our partners and supporters. With your help, we will continue to fund research to achieve faster diagnoses, better treatments and ultimately cures for some of the most devastating childhood illnesses and injuries.
There’s a lot you can do to support a child with an injury, serious illness or life threatening disease. You can donate money to help save precious young lives. Donate your time to make a difference at our children’s hospital. Or raise funds for vital research and equipment, spread smiles and support families through difficult times.
You can make a difference and with your support, the wonders will never cease and the care will never stop.
Meet the new Woolworths Wayfinders at the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital.
In recognition of Woolworths 31 years of support, our volunteer Wayfinders have a fresh new look. Still easily recognisable in bright green, the Woolworths Wayfinders are here at the Lady Cilento to help visitors navigate our amazing 12 storey hospital.
So its a new look, same wonderful, helpful volunteers!
Our fabulous volunteers had a special mission yesterday - delivering chocolates and roses to patients and families who were in hospital for Valentine's Day.
Grace and her mum were delighted to get theirs so they could share this gorgeous picture with dad and big sister back home in Middle Mount.
Grace's mum said "the journey would have been a lot harder if the volunteers were not there to support them".
Our 'vollies' do an incredible job every day of the year, we're so lucky to have their amazing support - if you'd like to know more about volunteering for the Children's Hospital Foundation at the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital, click on the link: https://hubs.ly/H09_znf0
Baby Hadley is one of the 1 in 100 babies born with a congenital heart condition, one of the top five causes of infant and child death.
She will need three open heart surgeries if she’s going to have any chance to lead a normal life. So far she’s made it through the first two, but there is one more to come. For her mum Vienna, watching her baby girl being wheeled away for her first surgery was the hardest moment yet:

Thankfully, new research lead by our researcher Associate Professer Schlapbach could deliver exciting news for babies like Hadley. It’s testing whether the simple addition of nitric oxide to the heart-lung machine during surgery could prevent a baby’s organs from becoming inflamed.
Your donation could help develop research to lessen the life threatening side effects of heart surgery in children. Give the gift of love this Valentine's Day, donate now - https://hubs.ly/H09-Pmy0

Join us for the inaugural International Women's Day breakfast on Thursday 8 March at Rydges Southbank from 7.00am – 9.00am.
International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women. We are honoured to have a panel of some of Queensland’s most successful and influential women in research join us for the morning.
The Children’s Hospital Foundation is also very proud to be launching the Mary McConnel Career Boost Program for Women in Paediatric Research at this event, to help female researchers advance their careers, and address Queensland’s most critical paediatric health and medical research needs into the future.
