Every newborn welcomed into the world at a Mater Mothers' hospital is affectionately known as a little miracle. Over 2,000 very ill and premature babies find sanctuary in Mater's embrace every year, requiring intensive, round-the-clock specialist care.

Mater stands as the sole team in Australia performing regular open foetal spinal surgery—a testament to our pioneering spirit and commitment to pushing the boundaries of medical excellence.

Through the Nine Telethon, with the support of the community and the support of Channel Nine, Mater aims to raise critical funds towards life-saving research, care and equipment, ensuring all babies at Mater have the best possible start to life.
